Key Benefits

01
Ferrous ascorbate — best-tolerated oral iron for sustained compliance during 3-month IDA courses
02
1.5mg folic acid — above the standard 400mcg antenatal dose, appropriate for IDA treatment and preconception
03
Zinc 22.5mg — addresses coexisting zinc deficiency common in IDA patients
04
Alu-Alu blister — superior moisture protection for iron and folate stability
05
Standard antenatal iron dose — positions FLASHFER™ XT as a complete antenatal haematinic
06
Triple deficiency coverage — single tablet for the iron-folate-zinc triple deficiency common in pregnancy and adolescents

Mechanism of Action

Ferrous Ascorbate 100mg (chelated iron-vitamin C, superior bioavailability and tolerability) + Folic Acid 1.5mg (erythropoiesis cofactor, neural tube protection) + Zinc 22.5mg (immune function, wound healing, reproductive health, cofactor for >300 enzymes). The adult tablet formulation at 100mg ferrous ascorbate provides approximately 30mg elemental iron — the therapeutic dose for iron deficiency anaemia treatment and the standard antenatal supplementation dose. Zinc 22.5mg addresses the frequently coexisting zinc deficiency in anaemic patients, particularly pregnant women and adolescents.

Indications

Iron deficiency anaemia treatment (adults), antenatal iron supplementation (pregnancy), combined iron-folic acid-zinc supplementation for adolescent girls and women of reproductive age, post-partum iron restoration, anaemia of chronic disease adjunct, and combined nutritional deficiency (iron + folate + zinc) in malnourished adults.

Dosage & Administration

Dosage and administration should be as prescribed by a qualified doctor or medical professional. Do not self-medicate. Always follow your physician's instructions regarding dose, frequency and duration of treatment.

Why FLASHFER™ XT?

FLASHFER™ XT tablets complete the FLASHFER™ brand range — adult tablets alongside infant drops — enabling the same brand to follow patients from infant supplementation through adolescent and adult IDA treatment and pregnancy. The ferrous ascorbate formulation's superiority in compliance (fewer GI side effects) is particularly important for the 3-month IDA treatment courses and 9-month pregnancy supplementation where discontinuation due to constipation or nausea is the primary reason for treatment failure.
