Mechanism of Action
Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks the action of angiotensin II, relaxing blood vessels and reducing blood pressure. It has the longest half-life among ARBs, providing 24-hour blood pressure control, and has additional PPAR-gamma activity beneficial in metabolic conditions.
