Mechanism of Action

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks the acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining. The injectable form delivers Pantoprazole directly into the bloodstream, providing rapid and powerful acid suppression — particularly important in emergency and hospital settings where oral medication cannot be given. It is used when patients need immediate control of gastric acid to prevent or treat serious conditions like bleeding ulcers.

Indications

Acute upper GI bleeding, bleeding peptic ulcers, severe GORD and erosive oesophagitis requiring IV therapy, pre- and post-operative gastric acid suppression, and patients who are nil by mouth (NBM) or unable to take oral medication.

Dosage & Administration

Take as prescribed by your doctor or healthcare professional. Do not self-medicate.
