STRIKEMOX™ CV DROPS

STRIKEMOX™ CV DROPS delivers the amoxycillin-clavulanate combination in a concentrated oral drop formulation specifically designed for neonates and young infants. Amoxycillin functions as the primary bactericidal agent, killing bacteria by inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis. It binds covalently to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial inner membrane, preventing cross-linking of peptidoglycan strands and causing cell wall rupture and bacterial death.

Potassium Clavulanic Acid serves as a suicide inhibitor of bacterial beta-lactamase enzymes. Many common paediatric pathogens — including beta-lactamase-producing H. influenzae (the primary cause of acute otitis media) and M. catarrhalis — produce these enzymes to destroy amoxycillin. Clavulanate permanently inactivates these enzymes by forming an irreversible acyl-enzyme complex, restoring amoxycillin's full bactericidal potency.

In the drops formulation, both components are present in a fixed concentration per mL, allowing precise weight-based dosing in neonates and infants — where accurate dosing is clinically critical.

STRIKEMOX™ CV DROPS is specifically formulated for neonatal and infant use, targeting the most common bacterial infections encountered in early infancy.

Acute Otitis Media: The most common bacterial infection in infants. Non-typeable H. influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis — both frequently beta-lactamase producers — are primary causative organisms. Amoxycillin-clavulanate is the guideline-recommended first-line treatment.

Neonatal and Early Infant Respiratory Infections: Lower respiratory tract infections in infants below 3 months, including bronchiolitis with secondary bacterial infection.

Urinary Tract Infections in Infants: E. coli UTIs in neonates and young infants — a common and potentially serious condition at this age.

Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Neonatal impetigo, omphalitis, and superficial soft tissue infections caused by S. aureus and Streptococcus species.
