Mechanism of Action
Ferric Carboxymaltose is a stable iron complex that can be infused rapidly in large doses. It replenishes iron stores quickly, correcting iron deficiency anaemia without the GI side effects of oral iron or the repeated dosing of other IV iron preparations.
Indications
Iron deficiency anaemia, pre-operative iron optimisation, anaemia of chronic kidney disease, post-partum anaemia.
